I've had it sonic cleaned and tuned up and it plays better than it looks, and looks pretty darn good. My over 30 years of making custom brass instruments has led me to make a commercial style small bore tenor trombone for the pro player. Then, someone came up with the idea of adding a telescoping slide to the mouthpipe of an S-fold trumpet, so that the pitch could be adjusted to play more notes. In early jazz the trombone played a more or less functional role, and was usually present as a single instrument.
